Bachelorette
Party Pairings of Wine and Food
If you are having a
bachelorette party that will involve good food and wine, then we
have a great section for you below that discusses the most
optimal type of wine to serve at the bachelorette party meal:
Beaujolais: Although not that
popular at bachelorette party events, this fine wine is
great with roasted chicken, salad, grilled sausage and pork
chops.
Cabernet Sauvignon: This wine
is great with any b-b-q beef, rib eye/New York steak, filet
mignon, duck, lamb as well as meat loaf and burgers.
Champagne: If you and the
bachelorette party want to drink even more eloquently,
champagne goes well with dim sum, fried oysters, caviar as
well as with your breakfast foods of eggs benedict, any
brunch, crepes, lobster omelet and strawberries.
Chardonnay: A perfect selection
if you are having Pesto, Cesar salad, scallops, sea bass,
shrimp scampi, as well as the good old mac n cheese,
fajitas, quesadillas, or pork chops.
Chianti: If you are in the mood
for Italian red sauce dishes as well as pizza, minestrone,
eggplant parmesan, capriccio as well as sirloin steak or
wild boar, this is the bachelorette party selection for you.
Gewurztraminer: Another not so
common bachelorette party favorite but great with cheeses,
spicy dishes (Chinese) and duck.
Merlot: A bachelorette party
favorite and great with prime rib, corned beef, grilled duck
and pot roast.
Pinot Grigio: A light wine that
is great with fish, linguini with clams, raw veggies, hummus
and prosciutto.
Pinot Noir: A wine that is
great with many bachelorette party dishes including chicken
with mushrooms, fish (halibut/mahi mahi/salmon/grilled
tuna), ham, risotto, turkey and pork chops
Riesling: A fine wine for a
bachelorette party that is great with shrimp/lobster/crab,
hot dogs, pad Thai, Chinese chicken salad and chicken
teriyaki.
Rose: Not a common bachelorette
party wine unless your having a picnic out with the girls,
but still great with BBQ chicken, ratatouille (not from the
movie), and tuna salad.
Sauvignon Blanc: A great wine
with seafood choices like Caribbean foods, raw oysters,
pasta with seafood, BBQ shrimp as well as fried chicken,
guacamole and Greek salad.
Syrah/Shiraz: Not a common
bachelorette party wine, yet great with grilled or tandoori
chicken, empanadas, skirt steak or venison.
Zinfandel: A sweet wine that is
great with BBQ spare ribs and chicken (really anything with
BBQ sauce), chili, beef teriyaki, Mexican meat dishes, and
short ribs.
After dinner bachelorette party wines
After the main course, these other fine bachelorette
party wines are great to top off the meal:
Muscat: My favorite and great
with cookies, crème Brule, flan, and fruit salad.
Port: An excellent dessert wine
as well as with steak dinners and dates.
